Hythe
One of the original members of the Confederation of Cinque Ports - towns in south east England which by royal command provided men and ships for the defence of Britain in days long gone - Hythe is a charming town with the
friendly atmosphere of a village and claiming three outstanding visitor attractions: the Royal Military Canal; the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway; and Port Lympne Wild Animal Park.
The long High Street is an attractive mix of historic buildings and interesting shops, inns, guesthouses and B&Bs.
The Hythe Venetian Fete and the Hythe Festival (staged in alternate years) attract
visitors from far and wide.
